U.S. Central Command confirms social media accounts hacked, hackers praise Islamic State

By Wade Tyler Millward United States Central Command has suspended some social media accounts following an apparent hacking by people aligned with the Islamic State militant group.

The Twitter and YouTube accounts for CentCom displayed messages supporting the group. CentCom – housed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa and responsible for national security interests in 20 nations, stretching through the Arabian Gulf region into Central Asia – maintained control of its Facebook account, according to The Washington Post.
