More than 30,000 insurance claims have been filed in Polk County in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Polk took the brunt of Irma’s wrath in the Tampa Bay area, and has 43 percent of the 71,518 claims filed through Tuesday afternoon for the seven counties in Tampa Bay.
